thin line

i'm walking a thin line. the line between wanting to be home and wanting to get as far away from home as possible. i love my family, but sometimes i just need to get away. and it happens a little more often then i expected. i really can't wait for the day i can finally get my own place. and i am yet again missing westmont: the campus, the people, my friends, santa barbara, the freedom.

i think i'm really gonna love working at the zoo. today was training and i have to say i like the job so far. tomorrow i start working for real.

19th

Sunday was my 19th birthday. It was a very good day. I was with my friends from Westmont. They woke me up in the morning singing happy birthday and brought me breakfast. Then later they presented me and Heather (whose birthday was Monday) with cake and gifts. They got me a nice card and some cool random stuff. I love my friends.
It was a different experience not being home on my birthday.

This Weekend

I leave tomorrow morning for a weekend in Napa.
Things haven't gone how i wished and the trip is shorter than hoped but i hope to have fun anyway.

Napa or bust!

So I for sure will be going to Napa June 8-12th. Either by train or by car, I am going. It will be my birthday present to me to make sure I see my Westmont friends on my birthday (which is June 11, if you didn't know). As of now, I am waiting on a few people to know if they will still be going and how we are going to get there. If I don't hear back from everybody, I will start getting annoyed and not just a little stressed, like I am right now. I don't want to complain, because at least I have a great group of friends to make plans like this with. I just wish the whole group could be there.

Sadly no...

...no license ....YET.
i made a few mistakes and now i need to practice more and then take the test again.
so heads up guys, we will need to re-look at our road trip plans. it will happen somehow, whether by car or train.

Road Trip

June 8-12th, I will most likely be in Northern California visiting with Westmont friends. I am soooo excited about the trip!! And I will have more money for it because i am not going to end up buying the new laptop this summer. I just need now to make sure i get my license tomorrow morning.

boy the butterflies are fluttering in my stomach. tomorrow morning i take my driver's license test. i am nervous but i think i will do fine. if y'all wouldn't mind praying for calm and focus for me tomorrow morning, that would be much appreciated.

Hopefully tomorrow morning i will be a licensed driver~!!!!

Driver's License Test Date

TUESDAY MAY 30TH @ 10:30AM!!!
that is when i will be taking my test for my driver's license. i drove a lot today. got to keep up on the practice. just wanted to let y'all know so y'all can pray for me on that date.

the valley hunt club didn't work out.

Shakira, Shakira, Shakira

recently the only music i want to listen to is Shakira music. for some reason i have fallen in love with her music. it is so addicting. so i have been listening to it a lot in the last week. but for the last two days i haven't been blasting it from my stereo because we have the painters here taking down wallpaper. and well they're all Mexican and i'm not sure how they'd feel or what they'd think hearing Shakira blasting from the room of a white boy. soooo i've been listening to other music until they leave.

JOB(S)

Today the manager of the Valley Hunt Club and I finally got in touch. I have an appointment with him tomorrow to fill out paperwork. I hope that all works out and I do get the job. He thinks that it shouldn't be a problem. He had to check how close I was related to the Hamlin that was a member. He thinks that it shouldn't be a problem.

Speaking of jobs, I also applied to work at VONS. I applied online last night. I am waiting to hear from them. It might be cool if I could end up taking both jobs. Get to earn even more money.

i did it again

so i got this impulse to experiment with my hair again. so i tried to dye my hair blonde just for kicks. and welll it did not work at all. it looked blonde in some lights and in others it just looked orange... bleh. so i went back the the store and bought some dark brown dye. and i dyed my hair again! this time it worked out much better. now my hair is a dark brown and it looks much better. i like it much better.

good day

today (monday that is) was overall a good day. i had a good talk with Helen today. i appreciate how we can talk about real issues and deep stuff and be comfortable about it.

i also watched some of the swim meet that both Helen and Cory participated in. i was impressed. they are very good swimmers. Helen is a crazy fast swimmer!! i was blown away.

work was slow again but not boring. hayley was there and there is never a dull moment with this girl. plus terri-ann is a good supervisor. it was a fun time.

then i went to Starbucks with Cory. we got time to just chat and hang out. discussing things from next semester to old crazed drama teachers. good times.

I want this!!

I wanna get this laptop. I know I already have a laptop and a fairly nice one. But when I bought it I bought it for school and for entertainment too. Now I have other entertainment devices likea TV and DVD player and do not need a laptop with a widescreen etc. Right now I'm just thinking about it and we'll see what happens.

Do You Want the Bad News First or the Good News?

So I woke up feeling slightly sick this morning. Just sick enough that I decided it would not do me well to go to voice and speech class, on a count of the fact my thoart hurt like crazy-go-nuts and I could barely breathe through my nose. So I did not go to class. This is extremely bad timing. I CAN'T GET SICK NOW!! I need to be able to finish this semester. It also does not help in the slightest that I have been losing good sleep. Yes I sleep in fairly late on Tuesdays and Thursdays but it is not sleep that helps me feel better. I throws off my sleep pattern and makes me get sick. I just want to ask for prayer for me and that I can finish this semester fairly strong.

A little bit of good news: I have been invited to go home with Cory for Easter Break. I am extremely appreciative of his offer as I don't think going home before finals is a good idea. Especially when my brain and body are more than ready to check out for summer. I would just get comfortable being home too much that it would kill me to have to go back and finish with finals.

random blog time!!!
so we have finally reached the final month of school. I can't believe it. My first year of college will be over soon. This is our last full week of school and the rest are four day weeks. So cool.
Speaking of Easter break coming up... so far I guess I'm planning to just go home. Unless I were to be extended an invitation to go home with someone. I kinda don't wanna go home to only then be home again for summer so soon. Kinda want to spend as much time with my Westmont friends as I can before summer vacation.
I have an Old Testament test tomorrow. I don't know how well I will do, but i did study with Colleen and I think that did help. I will use some of my free time before class tomorrow to study too.

(just to explain the bowie stuff we recently watch the Labyrinth with him in it...plus i bought the soundtrack)
