Life goes on....

Oh my how time just seems to soar by.
I can't believe that this semester is half over already. We are already going to have a talk next Monday about housing for next year. I am going to try to join Cory, Dylan, Luke, and a few others who are unknown as of yet in a suite in VK next year. I really hope that it works out.

I am so excited and yet very nervous about Potter's Clay. I realized tonight at my group meeting that I will probably end up riding in a car with people not in my VBS team group because of odd numbers of seats in cars. And I will be tenting with guys I probably have never met. I am really looking forward to the trip though because my team is great and I can't wait to do VBS stuff with them. Plus it will be my first trip to Mexico!!

The past couple of days I have been feeling really homesick. I realized how much I really miss my brothers. I miss the times we'd stay up late chillin' in my room and just talk. I can't wait to see Nick and Brad again. I am really looking forward to Nick coming up in April. It will be so fun. I aslo can't wait to see my parents again when they come up to see Spring Sing. I miss my friends soo much!! I miss Tess and Stacy sooo much. I also miss Katie, Pat, and Shannon mucho. I can't wait until the six of us can be reunited. Oh such good times.


Although I can't wait for summer because I'm so done with classes and school, I don't want to leave my friends at Westmont! I am glad that Helen and Colleen live nearby and that I will be able to see them over the summer break. When I get my license this summer I think it would be so cool to take a little road trip and visit say Monique or Cory in nothern cali.

I am thinking as I type this entry that I really should be in bed as I have a class at 8am tomorrow morning and the current time is 12:30am. So I shall wrap up this decently long entry.

This is what happens when I get hyper. And Cory made the mistake of falling asleep during the movie. Ahh four-day was awesome!! SO many inside jokes were created...well maybe "SO many" but it was good times for sure!

I got yet another haircut

Last night we cut hair. Tyler cut mine and I didn't think to get my camera until after my hair was done. So we had to take pictures because Cory was getting a mohawk. And well as you can see he did.

Crab Hunting

Last night we went crabbing. Cory, Tyler, JC, Dean, and Myself went out around 10ish and fished for crabs til well after midnight. It was so much fun! The first one we caught was farily small and faked being dead and we weren't sure for a while if it was alive or dead. But it was alive. Throughout the night we caught severval crab but only brought back to Westmont three. A small one, a medium one, and a large one. The last one we caught was the large spider crab. It was amazing.

Spring Sing Kick Off

Wednesday night was the Spring Sing Kick Off. Basically almost the whole school went the gym at 9:30pm and were all dressed up crazy like and were ready to hear the theme announced. Page men were supposed to go as superheroes, well not very many of us did. I did and I borrowed Mary's Batman suit!! It was amazing fun. The theme this year is "If I could Turn Back Time." (taken from the song by Cher)

After the kickoff we went to the Study for a talent show. Cory's brother Tyler was in it and he was amazing. He is really talented on the guitar and singing. I went to that still in the batman suit it was funny!

I went to the Beach!! (finally)

Saturday I went to the beach with Kate, Cory, and Helen. It was such a perfect day for the beach. Kate left early and Helen and Cory and I dug a big hole (that kinda started as small holes with tunnels connected underground). Then we started to make a TV out of sand but that didn't work so we made something else. Still not sure what you might call it but the last picture its it.

Blah Blah Blah

So this post has no real point ...


No, I have not "fixed" my hair yet. I do plan to cut off the black that remains soon. It is getting longer and starting to really not look good and annoy me. And I really want it done before i go to Mexico in March. I'M SO EXCITED TO GO ON POTTER'S CLAY!! I'm aslo happy that Kate and Cory are going too!! Yay for friends!

Had meeting about Poland with Richard II cast today....I'M SO EXCITED!!


Today I slept thru Psychology for the first time. And on the day our revised essays were due too. I e-mailed my professor and she let me turn it in this afternoon and all is well. I also missed chapel for the first time this semester today too. I had awoken at 6:45am to my alarm and was set to get up, however the next thing i know I'm waking up to the phone ringing and it is 10:15am!! SO i missed class...and decided not to go to chapel and take a shower instead.

Tomorrow morning I am going to meet with my advisor and talk about the possibility of graduating in three years instead of four. I have decided that I would love to graduate early. Not because I dislike Westmont and want to leave as soon as possible, no that is not it.


WEll it is getting late and i need to be awake before 10am!!

Thanks for making a post about the graduating early thing Gillian. I totally forgot I posted that. I have talked to my advisor and decided that it probably isn't going to happen. I'd be in school year round for three years and I couldn't do that. And I totally want to do an off-campus program!!

Phonathon

I had my first two shifts of Phonathon this week.
I worked Tuesday and tonight. I was going to work every Tues and Weds, but my schedule was changed and now I work Mondays and Wednesdays. I will probably like that better becasue I really did not like working for 3 hours two nights in a row.

The first night we just did thank you calls. Just like the calls I made when I volunteered for Thankathon. They are short and sweet. But for three hours, it gets kinda boring especially when you keep getting message machines.

Tonight though, we started with Thankathon calls then switched and did some actual Phonathon calls. I did not get any pledges tonight. In fact because it is Wednesday we got mostly message machines. Apparently most people have Bible studies and such on Wednesdays. So I got mostly machines tonight which was okay because I was still a little nervous about calling.

This is totally amazing!!

Another Job!!

SO I got another on campus job!!
I will work for Phonathon this semester, which means I will be calling Westmont alumni asking them for a donation to the college. I have training this week and work starts on the 30th. I will have two 3hour shifts a week. Yay more hours means more money!

And this week my Old Testament Professor will not be here Wed. or Fri. so we don't have class those days. SO I'll be free on Wed. and Fri. at 12:35pm, no more class after studies in Lit. Ahh Studies in Lit., I have an essay to write for that class due tomorrow!! I think I'll be fine I just have to make sure I don't waste too much time today.

It is finished!!

Ok all this past week, all of us have been helping to build this puzzle in Helen, Vanessa, and Mary's room. We would work on during movies, while waiting for people to go to dinner, etc etc. And well it brought about a lot of good quotes for our quote book and a few ongoing jokes. For example now that it is done and photograhpias have been taken, Cory now has the freedom to destroy the puzzle as a ninja.

Anywho, here is the puzzle that will puzzle us no more!!

Three Day Weekend

This weekend is the first weekend after a first week of classes, and it happens to be a three day weekend. And a lot has happened already.

Friday: In the afternoon Vanessa and I went down to State Street to run some errands. I got my hair cut, bought socks and hairdye. Vanessa had to buy some art supplies for class. For dinner we met up Helen, Cory, Kate, Jean, Dylan, Nick, Cal, Emily, Jessica, and Mary. And we ate at California Pasta and it was very satisfying. Then after dinner we went to Borders and looked at the books in the humor section and a few people actually bought stuff. Then we went to this park where there is this totally awesome kids play area, called Kids' World. There we playd sardines and tag. Good times.

Saturday: Kate helped me try to dye my hair brown. By try I mean that my roots took to the dye but the areas that were still black stayed black. So my hair looks kinda emo and Cory said it even looks punkish, so right now I am a emo punk. Hahahe. Later in the evening a group of us went to get boba. Kate, Jean, Yuko, Emily, Mary, Cory, Tyler, Cory's roommate whose name I think is Mark, Nick, and Me.

Sunday: Not much happened for me in the morning. I had stayed up late saturday night and didn't wake up in time for church. So I did a lot of homework. Then later in the evening I meet everyone at dinner and we went back to VK after dinner. There we goofed off for several hours, we found this game online that caught all of our attentions for like a whole hour. It was most amusing. Then Cory, Mary, Kate, and Myself went to Blockbuster and rented Madagascar and got some food at Taco Bell. Then we all watched Madagascar and it was pretty funny.

Now somewhere in there we watched Transporter 2, Clue, and Robin Hood Men In Tights. But I can't remember which nights we watched those.

Today: Today we plan to see Hoodwinked at 5pm. That's all that is planned so far.

HAIRCUT!!

Yes, I got a haircut.
I cut my hair really short. Like I haven't had this short in a long time.
And I plan to dye it again, but closer to my natural color so I can slowly get back to my natural hair color. Let it grow out. My friend Kate, is going to help me dye it today.

I have had a total of like one comment since I started this blog. Maybe not enough people know about it and I need to tell more people. I don't know. Or maybe I haven't posted anything they find interesting enough to comment on. I really don't know. I will try more publicity and see what happens. I did change a setting so that anyone can leave a comment, so maybe that will encourage people to leave comments.

I am so happy to be back at Westmont. I love seeing my friends. Now since like five people from the large group of people that I was becoming a part of last semester, are away on off campus programs, I now have a chance to get to know some people more. I think this semester is going to be a fairly good semester. I'll have to see.

I also am excited for my job in the post office. Right now all I do is sort mail, but it is kinda fun. I don't work much, only two hours a week. BUT I interviewed today for Phonathon, which if I get the job, I will work more hours a week and thus make a little more money. I really hope I get the job, because I really like the lady who runs it and it sounds like such a good and fun working environment. Fingers crossed!!

Good Ole Westmont

I am now back at Westmont. I am looking forward to starting classes tomorrow. More importantly I can't wait to see all my friends, for I haven't seen everyone yet. Maybe at dinner tonight, I'll find them. Yesterday I was the first one back to my room, my roommates had not yet arrived. I unpacked and moved my desk around so I could set up the fridge. Around 10pm we, those of us who were here, watched The Wedding Crashers in Zak's room. It was a pretty funny movie. It finished after 12 and I went to bed around 1. Then at like 2 in the morning John arrived! He cut his hair and it is really short now. He looks nice. We are still awaiting Daniel's arrival. We he gets here we need to find a good place for the TV.

I have just purchased my books for my classes this semester. Speaking of my books! I only have 5 BUT 4 of them, mind you the four that i need all on MWF, are huge fat books. I have no idea how i am going to handle them yet. I'll figure that out this week. I need to find Bill from the post office because he needs to sign my forms so I can begin work tomorrow morning.

A Job!!

I GOT A JOB!!
I got a job to work in the Westmont Post Office.
It is only two hours a week, so I can still look for another on-campus job.

Ahhh so maybe one day i'll tell you my secret, you know the one that will change your life and you're dying to know, ahh but i still don't know if ...

Ahh I love the holidays. Being with family and friends.
So this Christmas was the Christmas of DVDs and movies. I now have DVDs of some of my favorite old cartoons and some not so old cartoons too. I have the first two collections of Batman: The Animated Series, Family Guy Vol. 3, Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story, and Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers. It is great. I am set with mucho horas of entertainment. There will not be a dull Friday night at Westmont for a good while.
I also got my parents old TV for my room and I bought a small DVD player for my room too.
I am so content.

I look forward to going back to Westmont because I miss all my friends. I miss the craziness of Page. I miss ... Westmont. Mind you I don't mind not having any school and work...That I don't miss.

Tomorrow is New Year's Eve. I still need to finalize my plans for the evening. I am going to do something with my best friends, for sure!!

PS- the title of this post is just randomness. I have no secret to tell you. Disappointed? Sorry.
